Kos Labranda Marine Aquapark Resort Tourist Experiences Advices Tips Review

This is the first time in about 15 years since we've chosen a 4 star resort via TUI from the UK. This choice of resort attracted us primarily for our 3 year old and accompanying grandparent. We didn't expect much as in total it's cost approximately £2,000 in early June for 7 nights, all inclusive, which in my view is reflective of the below. Our first holiday in 4 years since having our toddler.

The aim was to shut down and not leave the resort and rest. In summary, it's a lovely and clean, spacious resort. It has excellent views of the sea and mountainous regions almost encapsulating the resort. A regular 30°c in the day and 22°c at night makes it that extra special away from the cold weather of the UK. Being near the sea there is a constant breeze for a cooling effect when coming out of a cool swimming pool. For kids, there is a water park, don't expect a Center Parcs standard (Woburn) water park, think Butlins cross Council Estate.

This is on a much smaller scale but perfect for toddlers, babies and fun for adults. In the first pool, there are a variety of water slides for all ages, a small park nearby, and a cash paid for bouncy castle and kids ride on cars. The second pool is much deeper and has an excellent wave generator. There is an exit from the second pool to the beach where you can touch the sea. Note that the beach has only approx 2 to 2.5m width of sanded walking area. Regardless of some of the issues below, we've enjoyed this resort but will not be returning again. We didn't get sufficient sleep due to the loud music from the outdoor theatre at night sometimes until 11:30pm, the early grass cutting and pressure washing. The food was not something we looked forward to. It was just to fill a void left from all that playing in the pool.

I do expect a perfect room each time anywhere i go when i pay for it and didn't get that here. Nevertheless, if you've paid and booked this, don't fret. It will be what you make of it and how you choose to react to issues if any. Didn't have the opportunity to taste the inclusive alcohol range although the wine agreed with the wife. The whiskey (avoid). Pro: 3 large pools (not heated) - kids pool especially great for children. Very friendly staff all great with kids and very helpful. Evening entertainment for kids (mini-disco) until 9pm. Dinner 'occasionally' may be good or excellent. Ice cream gelato bar - decent.

Very clean resort (happily walk bare feet, great for kids). Mini supermarket within resort (great for those essentials you've missed or didn't think you'll need). Quick within reason to deal with maintenance issues Cons: Food overall, for breakfast, lunch and bbq (oily chips and salty savaloy (yes, savaloy on a bbq grill). especially the late breakfast (sub standard). Not typical for a 4 star resort. Evening entertainment for adults tacky, nevertheless fun if you enjoy being kept up until 11:30pm each night or much later!!! Advertised gym. No gym area! Currently being built during visit Bottled water not replaced in room daily Maintenance issues Same music at the theatre each night.

Don't believe me? Look out for Opa Opa by Antique. A tube screen TV from what appears to be the 90's albeit tv isn't the main reason why we came here in fairness (the TV was later upgraded to a small flat screen across the resort). Outdoor theatre (subject to weather and noise not controlled thereby impacting the rooms). Intermittent internet connection on wifi. EE roaming was free which was great but signal strength below 0.5mb. My experience 1.

Room in Block 20 had a faint odour of urine or stale water. Advised front desk. They advised they would inform the cleaner so we thought we'd wait it out rather than pack our clothes up again to change rooms. We checked in around 01:00hrs so everything seemed lovely, although i found it odd that we had to carry our own 3 large suitcases and back pack to the room (1 minute walk). Patio door unable to close until you've figured out the knack behind it. Room was clean. 2. Second night music blaring out until past 10:30pm. Being reasonable we thought we'd adjust and enjoy it and that it's probably a one off night. So decided to sit outside on the ground floor balcony. Smelt a faint scent of poo.

So quickly ended that plan. 3. 3rd night, after visiting the mini disco in the outdoor theatre, the toddler was sleepy at 9ish so we decided to go too the room. Enjoying the heat, we decided to use the air con. Noise whirling sound (like something stuck) plus blaring music until the late hours of the night again past 10:30. Couldn't sleep. I've had more rest and sleep at home working 5 days per week. 4. 4th night request room change 5. 5th day got a room slightly further back in Block 22. Simply grateful for the fresh smell!!! Nice view of the kids pool area and sea from the top floor.

Front desk staff were very helpful and understanding. This time a pleasant member of staff helped by trading the baggage too the next room. Room change music still going until past 10.47. Front desk unsure why it's still going on when it should have ended at 10:30pm. There was no management for them to consult. No hot water in the morning for a morning shower :-( 6. And it goes on and on and on. In summary, I won't be visiting again, but that's my experience.
